When you call us to quote your homeowner’s insurance, we start by asking you a series of questions. These questions are designed to make sure that we’re properly protecting your investment in your home. However, they are also intended to make sure we are applying every discount you’re eligble to receive as well.
Getting the lowest premium
The absolute best way to get the lowest premium on your home insurance is to bundle it with your auto policy. If you aren’t currently bundling, you need to be! You receive a discount on BOTH policies individually when you write them together with the same agency.
Another area where you’ll see premium reduced is the updates to your home. The newer the roof, HVAC unit, electric, and plumbing, the better rate you’ll receive. When you update these items in your home, even after your policy is in force, call me. I can manually change the age of the roof when you put on a new one. The same goes for when it’s time to buy an upgraded HVAC unit. Updates can be added at any time and discounts begin immediately.

Does a monitored security system affect my insurance?
Monitored home security systems are another item that reduce your total insurance cost. When you bought your home, it may not have had one in the past. And you might not have thought at the time you wanted to purchase one. At some point down the road though, you’ve decided it’s a worth while decision for your family and have one installed. This discount can be added years after you bought the home. Even several terms after a policy is already active. Just give me shout and we can add it on the same day.
There are a lot of benefits to a monitored home security system. The top three include detering crime, notifiying you of gas leaks, and protecting you from fire with early detection. Also knowing your insurance premium will be reduced may help you decide it’s a good choice for your family. Keeping our loved ones as safe as possible is a goal we can all agree is important.
